Aperol Spritz Popsicles
The school season is slowly coming to an end and our instagram feeds are quickly filling with photos of lake trips and White Claws, this can only mean one thing… the start of the summer entertaining season! If you are doing any outdoor pool parties or backyard hostessing this summer, you are not going to want to miss out on today’s idea!
Today’s post is specifically for your 21+ entertaining. This super simple boozy refreshment combines the best of both worlds, a citrusy aperitif with a refreshing frozen popsicle! Follow along on my favorite way to make Aperol Spritz Popsicles. Enjoy :)
HOW TO MAKE APEROL SPRITZ POPSICLES
You will need:
5oz Aperol
4 oz prosecco
7 oz orange juice
2 oz water
Measuring cup
Popsicle mold (I bought this one from Target!)
Popsicle sticks
Measure out the 5 oz of Aperol, 4 oz of prosecco, 7 oz of orange juice, and 2 oz of water and combine in a pourable measuring cup or pitcher. Stir.
You can adjust these ratios depending on how boozy you want your popsicles, but in the end you will want a total of 18 ounces of liquid in order to fill all 8 of your popsicle molds.
Slowly pour the mixture into the popsicle mold filling each mold to just below the top.
Close the popsicle mold with the lid then stick your popsicle sticks through each hole leaving about 1-1/2 inch sticking out the top.
Place your mold onto a flat surface in your freezer. Since you are freezing Prosecco and Aperol, these alcoholic beverages need to chill a bit longer to reach a frozen consistency, so I would recommend freezing them overnight for best results.
Once you’re ready to enjoy, remove from the freezer and run warm water over the sides of the mold before you attempt to pull out the popsicles. Once the outside has been warmed up a bit they should easily slide out of the mold by gently pulling the stick upwards.
These Aperol spritz popsicles make the best pool-side frozen treat. I can’t think of anything more perfect for a sunny summer day. Cheers!
