DIY Beaded Bow Magnets
I recently hosted a “Favorite Things” holiday party with some friends at my apartment to celebrate the season and you know I had to include a cute craft for my guests to work on. I loved making the Pearl Bow Tea Strainer DIY gifts that I shared a few weeks ago and thought this was the perfect craft to do with a big group.
So I laid out all the supplies to make this project but I also included other options if people wanted to use the bows in other ways, including things like ornament hooks, wine charm rings, and hair clips. I think everyone had so much fun putting together their bows and got creative with how to use them. And one of my favorite options was to attach these adorable beaded bows to magnets to use on your refrigerator. And I especially loved the idea of using them to hang up your Christmas cards this season!
So if you are in the mood to work on a super simple but fun craft, especially over this relaxing holiday break, then this is the perfect project for you. Check out the supplies I used and how to make them below.

HOW TO MAKE BEADED BOW MAGNETS
STEP 1: Cut a piece of beading wire about 9 inches in length. Fold the wire in half to make a “V” shape.
STEP 2: String on 8 beads to the right side.
STEP 3: Now take the right end of your wire and bend it down and through your first bead (towards the left), creating a loop. Pull the tail as tight as possible.
STEP 4: String on 7 more beads to the left side.
STEP 5: Now take the left end of your wire and bend it down and through your first bead again (toward the right), creating another loop. Pull the tail tight. You should be left with the two upper loops of your bow shape.
STEP 6: String on 4 beads to both ends of your wire.
STEP 7: To complete your bow shape and secure the beads in place, bend the end of each wire tail into a small loop with your needle nose pliers. Trim off any extra wire with your wire cutters.
STEP 8: Lay out your magnets on your work surface (far enough apart that they don’t stick together) and add a little bit of super glue to each. Carefully press the center bead of each bow into the glue to attach the bow to your magnets. Allow these to fully dry overnight.
And your magnets are ready to hang up! How cute do these little bows look holding up all your festive holiday cards?! :)
I loved this project because it is totally something you can make in one night with a glass of wine and a festive Christmas movie on in the background. You could even make a set of these to gift to a friend if you are looking for an inexpensive/easy DIY gift idea.
A few of my other friends made these mini beaded bows and then strung them onto wine charms which turned out so cute and the perfect way to help your guests know which wine glass is theirs when hosting this time of year.
I’d love to know if there are any other ways you can think of using these sweet beaded bows? I’m loving that bows are totally having their moment this year and can’t wait to keep these in my holiday decor to bring out every year.
