Book Club Matchbook Favors (Free Printable Labels!)
As much as I love a summer beach read, I think I would have to say my favorite reading season of the year is autumn. There is nothing cozier than curling up with a good book, in a cozy blanket, with a fall-scented candle burning in the background. And it is the best excuse to break out all the witchy, cozy mystery, thriller, and dark academia type books on your TBR.
If you are a romance fan, like myself, you will be very familiar with all the classic romance tropes. So I thought it would be fun to create romance trope themed labels to decorate some plain matchbooks and matchboxes. They are such a fun way to add a small bookish touch to your home decor. I think they would also make the cutest DIY favors to give out to your guests if you host a book club! Check out how I made them and download the free labels below.

PRINT YOUR OWN BOOKISH MATCHBOOK LABELS FOR THE PERFECT BOOK CLUB FAVOR!
Supplies:
Matches (I made printable labels for both of these style of matches — Matchbooks or Matchboxes)
Printable vinyl sticker paper (8.5” x 11” paper size)
Printer
Scissors and/or paper cutter
ETI’s Book Club Matchbook and Matchbox Labels PDFs (download below!)
Begin by downloading the ETI’s Book Club Matchbook or Matchbox Favor Label PDFs above. Note that I have two options of labels available, for matchBOOKS and for matchBOXES. I designed these to fit on the matchbooks & matchboxes that I linked above from Amazon, but if you find the matches you are using are a slightly different size or shape, you could always trim the labels as needed. Here are the 3 designs:
Print the label PDF on 8.5” x 11” printable vinyl sticker paper. I found this one from Amazon worked really well and was great quality! I do not have the best printer at home when it comes to printing in color. So I actually just took these PDFs down to my local FedEx Office location and used their self-service printers. I just added my sticker paper in the paper drawer and printed like normal. It was about $0.76 per page and I was super happy with how the print turned out.
Use a pair of scissors or a paper cutter to trim the labels along the edges.
For the matchbook labels, each matchbook will need two stickers, the larger sticker for the main matchbook and the corresponding little rectangular sticker to cover the bottom portion of the matchbook.
For the matchboxes, you will need two of each label if you would like to cover both the front and back of each matchbox.
Peel off the backing of the vinyl stickers and adhere them to the matchbook or matchbox, lining it up with the edges as best as possible. The labels should fit without covering up the striker strip.
And there you have it, the cutest bookish matchbooks to display around your home or to gift as a fun party favor the next time you host book club!
Hope you enjoy this project! What is your favorite romance trope?
